These Dreams Verda Foster 9781932667042 Books Reviews
From the moment you open the book, you're hooked! These Dreams is one of those rare stories that just pins you to the seat until you're finished reading it.
Samantha is easily a character you can identify with...you laugh with her, you cry with her, you just wanna hug her when her heart is breaking.
Tess is a courageous woman who has a heart of gold, but a wall of steele protecting it. And only a woman who is forgiving and patient can break through that wall.
So, can Samantha break down that wall? Is Tess really the woman of Samantha's dreams?
You have to read the book to find out, but expect to have a lot of laughs, lots and lots of angst, and a big smile on your face when you read the end.
Easily one of Verda Foster's best works yet. And she's only just getting warmed up!

Wow! Just Wow! Not your typical romance. This story really packs an emotional punch. It starts with such high hopes - then plunges you into sadness, than fills you with hope, than knocks you out again. A really terrific read that you will not put down. At the center of the story is Trust and how important a part it plays in the lives of the characters. The fun part was watching both characters grow and reach fulfillment by opening themselves to trust in each other and themselves. I won't be loaning this book out - I'll be reading this again. Enjoy!
Be careful what you dream about. Artist Samantha McBride has dreamed all her life of a woman with blue eyes. Why? What is it about her that has so captivated Samantha to the point she has immortalized her "dream" on canvas? When a friend finds "Blue Eyes", as the mysterious woman has been named, Samantha excitedly sets out to meet her.
Mistakenly thinking that Samantha is someone sent by her archenemy, Tess Richmond is determined to totally humiliate her. Needless to say, their first meeting does not go well. When Tess finds out that Samantha was not whom she thought, she sets out to try and correct the misunderstanding. Heartbroken, confused and extremely disappointed, Samantha wants no part of Tess and is nowhere to be found. Tess, nevertheless, becomes determined to find her. Her task proves to be more difficult than she thought when it becomes clear that Samantha is just as determined NOT to be found. Will Tess be able to find Samantha and make things right? If she does luck out and finds her, will Tess be able to get Samantha to forgive her? What, exactly, is the big mystery surrounding Tess' dealings with her archenemy that would have caused her to suspect Samantha to begin with? Are these two women destined to become friends and possibly lovers? Or will their own actions keep them apart?
Verda Foster is an author more than capable of holding her own in the world of story telling as also displayed in her other books The Chosen, Graceful Waters, Crystal's Heart and The Gift. These Dreams is a terrific example of the trials and tribulations of love and the journey of two women trying to overcome the odds to see if, indeed...Dreams Do Come True."
I first enjoyed `These Dreams' a few years ago and was looking forward to enjoying it again. It was certainly good the second time and I probably enjoyed it even more. Verda Foster is a talented author who is able to bring interesting characters and complex stories to the printed page. `Dreams' certainly took a good deal of imagination to write and is so well done the reader easily believes the book's events could actually happen.
Samantha is an artist who makes her living by illustrating children's books and operating a film memorabilia shop started by her late father. Her whole life, she's had dreams about a blue-eyed woman and has painted many portraits of "Blue Eyes" over the years. Her friends and family have always thought she was crazy or that she had an imaginary friend to cope with being abandoned by her mother at a young age. That is, until Sam's best friend sees a life-sized, living, breathing "Blue Eyes" walking out of a local gym. Sam diligently searches for the woman, finally finding her and being almost immediately devastated by "Blue Eyes'" behavior.
Tess is an independently wealthy woman who owns a local night club as a hobby. She never allows herself an emotional connection with anyone and is known as a player by everyone she knows. Her reluctance to rely on anyone is due to her father's abandonment and her mother's death. In fact, she has an adversarial relationship with her father and believes he is having her investigated. When she meets Sam, she believes the younger woman is the investigator and behaves badly... feeling uncharacteristic guilt when she realizes her mistake. Tess then madly searches for Sam, intent on apologizing. It is then that the two women reluctantly admit their almost tangible connection and agree to attempt a friendship. That is, until the feelings grow too intense to control - a definite new direction for the straight Sam.
..the beginning was amazing because there was space for interesting character development to happen.
Then Verda foster did a time skip just when both characters were about to get to know one another. What a huge disappointment. the time skip basically made it that the readers doesn't get to see any of the interaction between Samantha and Tess.
Instead we get "I love you" within a few pages, the reader hasn't even connected with the characters or seen them interact with each other more than 5 pages. And a s*** explanation as to why they dream of each other.
The crux of the book is done 1/4 into reading it. The rest is filler.
Rubbish book, rubbish dialogue. plot point is rushed for NO reason. No build up.
Not worth the price it's asking. Huge let down especially since I loved "graceful waters"
good book, wish she'd write more books
Had to have it since reading it years ago on the internet
I liked this book. I do think it hard to beleive in real life this would really happen. I mean would you forgive someone who used you toss you aside and then pursued you after that?
But this is fiction and anything can happen, I liked it anyway.
