I enjoyed taking a journey back through this extraordinary battle through the eyes of the writer. This is the most vivid and well written accounts of Operation Viking Hammer I have read. While reading the pages, I immediately recalled the sights, sounds, and smells just like it had happened last week. Retracing those footsteps brought back some amazing yet unforgettable memories. DOL brother!
Written from the first personal perspective of the author as he embeds with, and fights alongside Kurdish forces in Northern Iraq.

It starts off with the battle for Sargat and the takes you back to cover infiltrating Iraq and embedding with the PUK forces.
A most interesting story of operations in Iraq prior to the invasion, mostly with the Peshmerga in Kurdistan. Well worth reading!
Mark gave a fantastic account from his sole and unique perspective and the true hell and brotherhood that comes from war. His vivid descriptions and attention to detail give the reader all the sense of smell, vision and tactile sense of being in the Sargot Valley.

I truly believe Mark and his Green Beret brethren are the finest people this country has ever produced.
